WABC's Bernie McGuirk Dies From Prostate Cancer

The co-host of Bernie and Sid Toward the beginning of the day, Bernard McGuirk died Wednesday late evening following a session with prostate cancer, only half a month short of his 65th birthday celebration.

McGuirk had been co-host of WABC's Bernie and Sid Toward the beginning of the day with Sid Rosenberg since April of 2018.

An exceptional recognition for McGuirk, including recollections and contemplations from the WABC staff, will air on Tuesday, October 11, 2022.

Red Apple CEO John Catsimatidis said, "We are completely crushed by the deficiency of Bernie. He was a genuine New Yorker whose ability and knowledge moved him to the highest point of New York morning radio.

He had incredible experiences on neighborhood, public, and world news that his audience members regarded. He will be remembered fondly by everybody at WABC and his fans all over the planet."

In an email to the 77 WABC group before the end of last night, Chad Lopez, President of Red Apple Media and 77 WABC, expressed, "Bernie was not only 50% of Bernie and Sid Toward the beginning of the day; Bernie was important for the texture of WABC.

Audience members from one side of the planet to the other began their days with Bernie's magnetic mind and understanding, from heartbreaking occasions to American's everyday life.

His nonattendance will leave an opening at WABC as well as across the wireless transmissions and in America's souls. Bernie was our sibling, our companion, our guide, our colleague.
